Mrs. Sheri Dubberke
Experience: This is my 30th year teaching in the classroom. The last 15 years I taught second grade at St. John in Ellisville, Missouri. I have experience teaching in grades first through third grade. When my own children were younger, I also had the opportunity to serve as the director of a Mother’s Day Out program at St. John in Ellisville. I taught in Texas, Illinois, and Missouri during my teaching career. I look forward to teaching first grade this year at Immanuel.
Degree(s): I graduated from Concordia College in Seward, Nebraska with a bachelors in elementary education and just finished (October 3, 2021) my masters in reading through Northwest Missouri State.
Interests: In my free time I love going for long walks with my husband and beagle Tucker. I love spending time outside and taking long drives in the country. Whenever I get the chance, I take time to see my three grown children. Ryan is an athletic director in Jeff City and will be married in November. Jordan is an assistant director of transfer students at Valparaiso University, and Payton my youngest is in college at Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois
Philosophy of Teaching: I believe that each child is uniquely created and my job as an educator is to help each child learn the way that best meets their needs. Students need time to explore, research, and collaborate with their peers. They need to learn how to problem solve, care for one another, and work with others.
Classroom Goals: I hope my students leaves my room knowing how much I care for them, how special he/she was created and how much Jesus loves them. I want my students to understand that God gives them a new day everyday to live for Him, to share His good news, and to learn more about His world.
