Philosophy of Teaching:
The role of the educator is to create a safe and exciting learning environment where students are encouraged to learn more about the world around them. The most important part of my job is to ensure that each of my students know that they are a redeemed child of God. Preparing students for a life of service and discipleship wherever God leads is also an important part of my educational approach.
Every student should have an equal opportunity to learn in my classroom, and lessons should reflect the different styles of learning. Curriculum should be planned and differentiated to meet students at their level. I often use a number of methods to get students excited about learning such as simulations, reenactments, group projects and the use of technology. I am always willing to try new methods of presenting a lesson if it means my students will have a better understanding of the subject. I truly want to bring the subject matter to life for my students.
Education is about relationships. The opportunity I have to create caring and positive relationships with my students will allow me the ability to guide my students on the path to academic success. Students who feel valued and are given the support to succeed will flourish. To that end, as an educator I must continue to grow professionally so that my students are receiving the best possible education. The students placed in my care deserve my best.
