As we look into 2021, we pray that it will bring more opportunities for our members to be on campus and active in our church. Have you ever wondered what ways you can be involved? ADULT BIBLE STUDY: Immanuel offers Adult Bible Studies for men, women and mixed groups throughout the week, 13 in all. Visit our Bible Study page or call the church office for specific days and times at 636-946-2656 ext 273.
ALTAR GUILD: The Altar Guild sets the altar for Holy Communion in the Sanctuary & Fellowship Hall. Volunteers are needed throughout the year. To receive training and join this group, please contact the Church Office at 636-946-2656 ext 260.
ARCHIVES: The Archive Committee indexes, catalogs and ensures the safety and preservation of all historical materials, displays selected pieces at various times and places and keeps a permanent file of minutes of the Voters’ Assembly, Elders, Council and all Boards. ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION: The Athletic Association helps to support athletics at Immanuel Lutheran School through various fundraisers. They also organize volunteers to run events. AUDIO/VIDEO TEAM: This team of volunteers helps run audio, video and the worship screens for church services in the Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall. CHRIST CASSEROLE CREW: Christ’s Casserole Crew exists to share the mercy and compassion that is Christ’s. We do this by preparing frozen, unbaked casserole meals and offering to deliver them to Immanuel members and neighbors who are in need. CHURCH LEADERSHIP TEAM: The Church Leadership Team (CLT) refers to members who have a responsibility to God, each other, the ministerial and support staff, Stewards and the Community. A key responsibility is to define and effectively communicate the vision to the Stewards. They shall endeavor to follow the scriptures regarding applicable qualifications. CHURCH LIBRARY: The Church Library provides a large selection of Christian books, videos and CDs regarding faith life, parenting topics, and much more. EVANGELISM: The main objective of this Ministry Action Team is to encourage and equip members of the congregation to bring the Gospel to the unchurched, enlist all of God’s people in the work of spreading the Gospel, and strengthen the faith and witness of the members of this congregation. EVENING GUILD: The Evening Guild serves the congregation in various ways. For instance, they save stamps for missions and hold monthly meetings with topics and Bible studies. They also support the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and host an ice cream social for a local children’s home, among other activities. FINE ARTS: Making our worship atmosphere beautiful is the job of the Fine Arts Committee! This group serves the congregation by decorating the church for various seasons and holidays. Please call the Church Office for more information 636-946-2656 ext 273.
GARDENING GROUP: Making Immanuel’s Campus Beautiful is the goal of this group! The Gardening Group is made up of church and school volunteers who enjoy gardening. They landscape and care for the many beautiful gardens throughout the church and school campus. HOSPITAL VISITATION TEAM: The Hospital Visitation Team is a trained group of caring congregation members that assist the Pastors by visiting members that are hospitalized. LUTHERANS FOR LIFE: Our mission is to equip Lutherans to be Gospel-motivated voices for Life. LUTHERAN STUDENT UNION: Weekly activities for students at Lindenwood College. The Upper Room located at 335 Droste Road, St. Charles, MO 63301. MEN’S CLUB: The Men’s Club provides an opportunity to increase fellowship among men. They provide support to a variety of service projects and fellowship activities throughout the year. MERRY PAIRS: The Merry Pairs serves the congregation by providing Bible study, fellowship and various social activities for all of Immanuel’s married couples. For a full list of activities, call the church office at 636-946-2656.
MOMENTUM YOUTH MINISTRY: Immanuel’s youth ministry exists to REACH all youth, to CONNECT them with other Christians, to help them GROW in their faith, and to CHALLENGE them to discover their ministry and HONOR God with their life. MOTHERS’ CLUB ALUMNI & FRIENDS: The Mothers’ Club Alumni & Friends provides support for school projects, supports the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and provides fellowship for former Mothers’ Club and PTL members. MOUNT CARMEL HELPERS: Assist Mount Carmel residents in getting together for a nursing home worship service that is held Thursday afternoons, twice a month. For information call Carol Bumb at 636-940-9998.
MUSIC MINISTRY: Sing Alleluia unto the Lord! Immanuel has an Adult Choir, Children’s Choirs, Handbell Choirs, Brass Ensemble and an Orchestra, all of which participate in weekly worship and festivals. NAOMI CIRCLE MINISTRY FOR WIDOWS: Immanuel congregation provides loving care, support and encouragement for the widows of Immanuel as directed in James 1:27 “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction and to keep oneself unstained from the world”. NEHEMIAHS: This group of Immanuel volunteers (mostly retired members) provide project help for the Immanuel Campus and members of the congregation. They have skills in various areas of electrical, general construction, handy work, painting, plumbing and yard work. Please contact Tom Wiley at 636-724-0282, if there is a project you want them to consider or if you would like to serve as a volunteer worker. Free will offerings are accepted to fund Campus projects and members in need.
PARENT-TEACHER LEAGUE (PTL): The PTL provides financial support for the school in a variety of ways, through the money raised from the yearly fundraiser and ongoing Scrip sales. They make donations such as: a financial gift to the teachers for classroom expenses, buses for field trips, encyclopedias, lockers, building safety and playground equipment. PTL also recruits room parents to assist the teachers, as well as hosting a variety of family fellowship events during the school year. To volunteer, call Michelle Kozemczak at 636-373-4597.
CHURCH & SCHOOL PARADE/PICNIC COMMITTEE: This committee seeks to strengthen the fellowship between congregational members, both spiritually and socially. They recruit volunteers and oversee the Church and School Picnic. QUARTER LIFE: Quarter Life is a group for college-aged adults to young thirty year-olds. We focus on having social, servant, and spiritual events in order to form deeper relationships with each other, our community and our Savior. If you have young children, you are most welcome too! We emphasize inviting other Christians and non-Christians to our events too. If you are interested, please call the church office and speak with the Vicar at 636-946-2656.
QUILTERS: This group of ladies comes together to quilt and enjoy a day of fellowship. If you want to join them for a day of quilting or have them quilt for you, call DeAnn Wiegmann, 636-928-3381.
SCHOLARSHIPS: The Principal’s Advisory Group accepts and screens applications for scholarships available to Missouri Synod elementary schools.
SCHOOL LIBRARY: The ILS Library provides nonfiction books and periodicals to support our school curriculum and works of fiction that appeal to students from preschool to eighth grade. SERVICE COMMITTEE: (Formerly the Lydia Society). Hosts the annual Card Party and provides and provides volunteers for the Funeral Luncheons. For more information call Kate Mossman, 636-724-2229
SENIORS MINISTRIES TEAM: Lead by Pastor Schade, this team meets monthly to plan quarterly seminars and luncheons on various topics of interest to seniors. Please call church office for more information 636-946-2656.
SOCIAL MINISTRIES TEAM: Jesus’ words from Matthew 22 tell us to “Love your neighbor as yourself”. This is really the essence of the mission of the Immanuel Social Ministry. It is our purpose to motivate and educate the congregation for service to the needs of fellow members and the people in our community, encourage participation in community projects and service organizations, and coordinate and support projects within the parish. Projects include charity donations distribution to assist in our congregation and community, birthday card ministry where age 80 and over congregation members receive a signed birthday card from the pastors, and staffing the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen with volunteers to prepare and serve lunch every Friday. We also sponsor Blood Drives, Oasis Food Pantry collections; flu shot clinics and Sharing Christmas Ministry. Please contact Pastor Schade for more information 636-946-2656 ext 276.
SOFTBALL: The congregation has offered men’s fast pitch fast pitch softball for 50 years! The ladies have been playing women’s slow pitch softball for over 25 years. Contact Dorothy Sterrett, 636-947-8304 if you’re interested.
STEPHEN MINISTRY: Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in the congregation and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives. THRIVENT FINANCIAL FOR LUTHERANS: This organization sponsors national outreach programs and activities that enable members to support other congregations, schools, charitable organizations and families in need. For information, call Tim Gerler at 636-493-9220.
USHERS: The Ushers provide assistance and hospitality to all who come to worship at Immanuel. If you are interested in volunteering to become an Usher in the Sanctuary or the Fellowship Hall, please contact Jerry Laneman, 636-441-1494 or Bill Zahner, 636-940-0589 or Bob Cushman, 636-734-1236.
VOTERS’ ASSEMBLY: Meets once annually, usually in May or June. Communicant members of Immanuel, 18 years of age and older, are eligible to join. WEDDING COORDINATOR: Your wedding coordinator will help you manage all the plans for your church service, rehearsal and wedding. The coordinator will also manage the rehearsal, pre-service details, training for the participants (such as groomsmen, bridesmaids, ushers, etc.) and after-service matters.
