ABOUT BOAR'S HEAD CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL
The Boar’s Head Christmas Festival is performed each December at Immanuel since 1986. The Good News of Christ’s birth is celebrated with instrumental and choral music while colorfully costumed actors portray their joy with a medieval Christmas Festival. Then the scene shifts to a portrayal of the Nativity, again told with choral and instrumental music. A reception follows so the congregation and community can continue the celebration with fellowship, Christmas cookies and punch. You may even have the opportunity to partake in wassail and figgy pudding.
Our 34th annual Boar’s Head Festival will be December 8 -11, with 7:30 p.m. performances on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, December 8 through 11 and 4:00 p.m. performances on Saturday and Sunday, December 10 and 11. Receptions follow each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday performance. We pray that this festival will continue to give glory to God and share the story of His love through His Son, Jesus Christ.
In November of 2021, Dr. Rachel Hahn and Marty Heinbokel shared their personal experiences directing the Boar’s Head Festival on the podcast, Lutheran Ladies Lounge.
